Inaugural Arizona Tip-Off Set to Begin Friday
GLENDALE, Ariz. (Nov. 16, 2023) – The inaugural Arizona Tip-Off is set to begin Friday, the first of three days as part of the tournament schedule at Desert Diamond Arena.
Eight games will be played during a three-day stretch and feature regional programs and nationally recognized teams in an ultra-competitive early season tournament format.
DePaul, South Carolina, Grand Canyon and San Francisco make up the four-team Cactus Division, while Northern Arizona, Purdue Fort Wayne, South Dakota and VMI will compete in the Desert Division. The four games of the Cactus Division will air live on CBS Sports Network
South Carolina, Grand Canyon and Purdue Fort Wane enter tournament play undefeated in the early going, with the Gamecocks and Mastodons holding 3-0 marks and the Lopes having posted a 2-0 record.
The launch of the Arizona Tip-Off gives The Valley a college basketball presence in the season’s highly anticipated opening month and its exciting conclusion in early April. The Arizona Tip-Off will take place at Desert Diamond Arena, which is located just across the street from State Farm Stadium, which will serve as the host venue for the 2024 Final Four.
Friday’s action features a quadruple header with games tipping off at Noon MT. The complete schedule of weekend events can be found below:
